Super easy and fast face

I don’t wear makeup every single day…I just don’t have time for it some days. I LOVE  when I have it on and feel my personal best when I am wearing even just a little bit.  Most days I manage to wear a nice in between amount…not glam, but not nothing either.  It is my “mommy makeup face”.

I made this video yesterday on Facebook explaining my usual, go to, easy look. I promise you it doesn’t have to be hard or time consuming to get a little coverage and a little glow and leave your house feeling  ready for the day and beautiful!  If you like to watch tutorials go check out that video, but if you don’t have the time then you can see the look below with the products I used so you can re-create it on yourself!

Teaching my daughter about makeup

I have had this on my heart so much lately.  How do I teach my daughter about makeup?  I know how to teach her the technically correct way to apply eyeshadow or lip liner…I know how to teach her about the color wheel and color theory…I know how to talk to her about what colors look best with what eye color…I can handle all of that!   (in time…obviously not when she is this young)

I am not sure how to talk to her about not needing makeup.

I totally understand that for a 4 year old, makeup is fun. She see’s her mommy putting on makeup and making videos and talking about makeup ALL DAY, EVERY DAY and I realize kids want to do what their parents do. I am fairly certain that if we had a little boy (or if Ellie enjoyed other things) they would be pretending they were a firefighter because that is what daddy does.  I know it is natural and I love that she wants to be like me.

But I worry. I want her to think of makeup as a creative outlet, an art form. I want it to always be fun for her and just something extra that can enhance her already beautiful features as she gets older.  I want her to know that she is pretty without makeup…that she doesn’t NEED makeup on her face to be beautiful.

For now, I am just trying to remind her every day that she is beautiful and let her play and express herself however she wants with makeup.  I want her to associate it more with art then beauty at this age.  If she wants blue eyeshadow and hot pink lips then go for it!

BUT, we don’t leave the house like that. I want her to know that makeup is age specific too…little girls don’t need to wear makeup out and about.

This all just brings up so many fears and worries as a parent to a girl. I want her to be strong, independent, confident and so many other things.  I don’t want her to be afraid to express who she really is or be ashamed of doing that.  I feel like there is a fine line with makeup…and I am still figuring it all out.

In the meantime I am going to just keep talking to her and letting her play and hope that I am doing the right things and making the right choices for her.

The Blog/B*tch is back!

I have a schedule….like a real, legit professional-ish social media schedule!!!!  So that means (drum roll)  I will be posting more often right here… on my very favorite and the OG social media outlet, my blog!!! How many exclamation points does it take to portray that I am excited!?!?!?!?!?!

So what the heck is a social media schedule you ask???  It is a fancy word for being organized with where and when I post content on social media.  If I don’t have it written down that I want to post three times a week and what days those are then I will NEVER get around to doing it.  So, if you don’t catch me over on my Facebook page doing Live videos most days of the week then you can read what I have going on in my life right here!

I have to say I am pretty exited about breathing new life in to my old faithful blog.  I have always loved writing and find it is the best way for me to communicate exactly what I want to say. Live videos are super fun, but sometimes I just can’t seem to say what I mean….so my blog will be exactly what I mean.

I hope you will jump on board and enjoy all the crazy little pieces that make up my life because I sincerely enjoy sharing with you!!!

Stay at home Momtrepreneur wannabe?!?!

Hey everyone!  Might as well start this post off like I do so many…it has been awhile since I posted, blah blah blah…but seriously, it has.  I guess I finally just have something I want to say and this seemed like the easiest way to get my words out there!

I love staying home with my daughter. I love the flexibility it allows me and my family. I have loved watching her grow and being able to be there for anything she might need. I feel so lucky and blessed beyond words that my husband was on board with this decision and that we were able to find a way to make it work for us.  It has been a struggle every now and then…if I was working full time we would be able to afford more extra things…but our choice is for me to be home and I am 100% happy with that.

HOWEVER…as Ellie has grown up I have found myself wanting something a little more…something for myself…some way to help my family afford some of those extras.  This is all my doing…no push from my husband whatsoever…in fact, he would work every single hour of every single day if it meant Ellie and I could have all the things we ever wanted. I don’t want that for my husband and I don’t want that for my family. We like to spend time together!!

Time and time again, my search for some sort of money making extra thing for myself has brought me to network marketing opportunities.  Now, I am not a sales person….in fact I hate being pushy or in peoples faces… however, I knew these companies could help me to stay home but also to make a little extra for my family. I went on the search to find the company that would be the best fit for me.

**in the meantime I should mention I also started a freelance makeup artistry business…I do wedding makeup, senior picture makeup, proms, special events, etc. Abby French Beauty LLC **

Full disclosure I have signed up for 3 different direct sales companies during this search until I found the 4th and final one that actually spoke to me and created true and serious excitement for me.  That is not to say the other companies weren’t exciting or don’t have great products, because I still use products from each of them.   I

So with all of the back story as to my “why” I am doing this I just really felt like I wanted to offer an explanation because I have posted on my social media outlets about selling other products.  I don’t want to be confusing or leave people thinking, “man, she sells everything…pick something and go with it!”  And actually, that is fair if people think that because I would probably think that same thing about another person that has done the same thing I have done. However,  I have FINALLY found the company and the products that just feel right.  You guys, I am soooooooo excited to share these products with you and to include them in my already successful makeup artistry business.

LimeLight by Alcone is the company I have chosen to give my time, energy and praise to. After years and years in the beauty industry I feel super confident in these products and know they are amazing.  I will be writing another post as to why I love this company and products so much (because seriously how long is this post) but for now check out my website and start getting familiar with this company because you will be hearing a ton about it as it continues to grow (like globally in the next months).  YAY!!!!!
