Exciting News

I have really exciting news!

My dad purchased a building in downtown Zanesville years ago and turned half of the upstairs into a beautiful art studio for my mom and her artist partner.  I have been in love with this building since then…so much, in fact, that we had our wedding in the downstairs. It turned out exactly as I had imagined…beautiful, with all of the exposed brick and hardwood flooring.  We also did our “first look” in that building, in the upstairs…the other half that was not my moms studio.

You may remember this beautiful photo taken by Jana Pryor.

Yeah, that picture…with those super cool windows that let so much natural light in…that is the other half of the upstairs…

and now… the exciting news is:

It has been turned into two STUNNING apartments.

That exact spot of our “first look” could be your living room!  Obviously this building holds so many memories for us which is why I am so excited to share this with you guys.  When my dad mentioned he was turning part of the upstairs into apartments I didn’t get too excited, BUT they are finished and let me tell you, I am beyond excited with how amazing they are.  I jokingly (sort of ) told my husband we should sell our house and move down there…they are gorgeous.  If you are looking for an apartment or know someone that is…you need to look at these!

Let me take you on a little tour so you can see for yourself.

The front the of building is just as beautiful as the inside…and it sits right next door to Zak's. For those that don’t know, Zak’s is a restaurant and bar that has amazing margaritas and great food. I mean, you can walk over, have a drink, eat some good food and then walk on home…doesn’t get better then that!

Front of the Building…the entrance to the apartments is the far left door.

The hallway and steps that lead upstairs are even pretty…the exposed brick and exposed beams in the ceiling, so cool

Steps and hallway

The first apartment you will be touring is 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

View from the front door.

cameraapril3 009

The kitchen and living area are complete open concept with hardwood floors, high and beautiful ceilings, and the kitchen is high quality and amazing! There is a crazy amount of cabinet space for an apartment like this and the cabinets themselves are beautiful…plus they have that slow closing ability (I am sure there is a technical term for this) so they don’t slam shut ever…so nice!

cameraapril3 010

cameraapril3 019

cameraapril3 021

Both bedrooms are a nice size with a full bath and closet in both.

cameraapril3 022

cameraapril3 013

cameraapril3 023

cameraapril3 016

There is also a half bath with a washer/dryer hook up in a huge room that could also be used for storage, or your bike, so you can bike to all the great things downtown has to offer. I mean, seriously…how nice is all of that space?!?!

cameraapril3 011

Moving on to the second apartment which is a 1 bedroom 1 1/2 bath.

The kitchen and living space are open concept just like the other apartment.  The kitchens also have all of the same cabinets, countertops and stainless steal appliances.

cameraapril3 027

Same beautiful high ceilings with amazing lighting that actually shines the light upward so you don’t feel like you are in a spot light.

cameraapril3 031

Nice large sink with garbage disposal (obviously super important!) , and gorgeous quartz countertops. (The same in both apartments)

cameraapril3 036

Built in microwave and amazing gas stove top and oven. (again, same thing in the other apartment too)

cameraapril3 035

The living space, bedroom and kitchen area all have the beautiful high ceilings and hardwood flooring.

cameraapril3 029

The bedroom is very spacious with a full bath and walk in closet.

You guys, these pictures don’t even do them justice. If  you know anyone or are someone that would be interested in renting these beautiful spaces you can email me and I can get you in to actually see them in person. (

Besides being beautiful, the location is pretty cool as well. As I mentioned, you would be neighbors with some pretty talented artists (Studio 202)in the same building…and you are also surrounded by tons more cool artists and studios downtown which you can find here. The first Friday of every month there is actually an Art Walk and you would literally just have to walk out your front door to be involved!

Other then the restaurant I mentioned earlier (Zak’s) there are also several other pretty amazing restaurants too. The Treehouse is a really cool coffee shop and also has amazing food and is only about a block away.  The Old Markethouse Inn is another great place to grab a drink and some good food and it is also only a couple of blocks away. Another little place to grab some food that is really close is Dooleys on Market.

As if that all wasn’t plenty of great things to do right in your backyard there is also a pretty great gym right next door that offers personal training, classes and more called Schimmel Fitness. I know my mom loves having it so close to her studio and utilizes the proximity every single day.  I  mean a gym literally next door to you is pretty great!!!

As  you can tell, I am extremely passionate about how fabulous and amazing these apartments are. Spread the word and let me know if you have any questions at

Oh Hey Friday…Favorite Food!!!!

Happy Friday guys!!! I hope you have some great plans for this weekend because the weather should be sooooo beautiful.  We will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary and I am really excited to have a date night…eating yummy food and having some adult beverages!

Speaking of yummy food I have some really good items that I have been loving lately that I need to tell you about. You guys, some of these things are so flipping good I can’t even believe I just discovered them! So if you are looking for some yummy things to add to your grocery list, keep reading.

1// La Croix Coconut Sparkling Water: Oh My Gosh you guys…this stuff is HEAVEN!!! I have had other flavors of this water and liked them ok, but this flavor…yuuuummmm this flavor!!!! If you like coconut anything then you NEED to try this. I have been trying to stop my one diet pop a day habit/addiction, and this stuff has been the perfect substitute!!! It smells and tastes like drinking on the beach…and coconut (duh) and sometimes I even mix it with organic pineapple juice and awwwww it is just so good. TRY IT!!!

2// Morning Star Buffalo Chik Patties: So you probably know I don’t eat meat and I am constantly trying new things to introduce to my family as a substitute for other meat products.  I have had other morning star products and usually like them, but my friend turned me on to these a couple of weeks ago and I have not looked back.  I didn’t even think I liked buffalo flavored anything but it turns out I kind of do!.  I have been baking one these puppies on the daily and chopping it up and throwing it on a salad for lunch and it is so good. My husband even loves them…he makes sandwiches with them all the time.  These are great and so yummy, so if you are looking for an alternative to the chicken patty with gross grisly chunks of lord knows what…these are your answer.

cameraapril2 103

3//Alexia Organic Oven Crinkles with Sea Salt and Pepper: We are trying really hard to be healthier in our house, but some times you just need some french fries!  These are the best things ever as an alternative to unhealthy greasy fries.  They are baked, which is healthier but the pepper on these bad boys make them soooooo delicious! Again, try these I don’t think you will be disappointed.

cameraapril2 104

4// Ancient Harvest Quinoa Pasta: Again with the healthy theme here.  We love a good pasta dinner and in an attempt to make it healthier we substituted regular pasta one night for this quinoa pasta.  I will be honest, Joe and I were both a little skeptical of this stuff at first but gave it a try knowing how good quinoa is for you.  We actually loved it…it is sort of a lighter version of a noodle if that makes any sense. You aren’t as full after eating a bowl of this. I think it is totally worth giving it a try.

cameraapril2 111

5// Gorton’s Smart & Crunchy Breaded Fish Sticks: I don’t eat meat but I do eat fish sometimes…and that is how Ellie is eating currently too, no meat, but some fish. We saw these at the grocery store and knew we had to try them for Ellie. They are wild-caught which I think is important and they are baked and not greasy at all. They are really really good and Ellie loves them.  Again, I really think these are worth purchasing and trying for your family…a nice healthy alternative for the greasy fish sticks that you sometimes end up with.

cameraapril2 105

There you have it…several of our favorites right now. If you decide to try them out let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions of things we need to be trying as well then for sure let me know that!!!

As always, I am linking up for this post…hope everyone has an amazing weekend!!!

Beauty Wednesday-crazy good concealer

I haven’t really done a beauty Wednesday in a while so I am soooo soooo excited to jump back in because I LOVE BEAUTY PRODUCTS!!! I’m not screaming at you I’m just screaming because that is how much I love them!!!!

I talked about a new concealer I had purchased awhile back in a previous post HERE, but at the time I hadn’t had a chance to really use it much.

The concealer I am talking about is the Maybelline Master Concealer in Light (picture below)

phoneapril1 144

My first impression of this was that I liked it, but I wasn’t sure if I really loved it.  It does have a different consistency then I was use to…not as creamy.  BUT, after having used this for a couple of months now…I love this stuff. I actually find myself grabbing this over my IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under eye, and I can’t believe I am even saying that.

This stuff covers really well, it doesn’t crease as long as you apply a powder over it to set it…and did I already talk about how well this stuff covers?!?!? I am serious you guys, for the low price of this stuff you need to try it!

I have found the best way to apply it is with my fingertips. When you first apply, it seems sort of running or watery so I usually put it under my eyes and sort of wait a minute (like you see in the dorky picture of me above with ONLY this stuff on my face) then go back and blend it out.  I swear to you that minute makes all the difference. Somehow the product gets a little thicker and easier to work with.

I also feel like this product is buildable, meaning you can use a little if you don’t need much…or you can layer the shizz out of it on the days when you feel like someone took a black marker and just went to town under your eyes…this stuff works for either day.

Try it..I think you will love it too!

Toddler Talk

I love pictures…I love taking pictures, I love looking at pictures and I kind of like being in pictures sometimes.  As a mom it is rare to get pictures with your kids…mostly because you are the one usually taking the pics and it’s kind of hard to take and be in pictures. My husband has really made an effort to try and remember this and to take more pictures of Ellie and I, which is so sweet.  I have also been known to shove my camera in someone’s face and ask/force them to take our picture.

When Ellie was little it was just so easy to snap cute pictures of her…she barely moved and would just cutely gaze in my direction. Now, as she has gotten older she wants to walk around, or climb or stick her tongue out…or anything other then get her picture taken.  Snapping a picture with this child where she is actually smiling and looking at the camera is like snapping a picture of a rare unicorn (errr..aren’t all unicorns rare…if they actually existed).  Don’t get me wrong, all pictures of her are cute, in my opinion, and some of the best are when she is acting goofy like the latest photo shoot we managed to capture on Easter…

The “deer in headlights”…

cameraapril1 069

The “I’m bored and want down”…

cameraapril1 070

The “maybe if I stick my tongue out and blow raspberries and look really cute, she will let me be done with this”…

cameraapril1 071

The “I’m pretty funny and cute and now I will sort of smile because I got mommy to look away from the camera”…

cameraapril1 072

And finally, the “ I am proud of myself”/ the little shit…

cameraapril1 073

Awww, taking pictures with a toddler…so fun!

Any tips on how you manage to capture some smiling faces?!?!… other then following them around all day with your phone up and ready waiting for the moment to strike only to realize your phone has timed out at the exact moment they decide to smile…not that I have done that.

If you feel like reading any other awesome moms talk about their toddlers or just life in general, I am linking up today for some Tuesday Talk. Check out other wonderful blogs below.

Weekend Shenanigans- dogs and meal planning

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed this beautiful weather Ohio has been having!!! I know we have been trying to take full advantage of it when we can.  Sunday we even moved the sand table outside and filled the thing with sand rather then fluffy pom poms. Ellie LOVED it…until she decided she needed to see what sand tasted like…then she decided it was probably time to explore the yard a little.  Hopefully as she gets older she will love it even more.

The rest of the weekend was pretty exciting, let me tell you. Prepare yourself for some pretty amazing things you might be jealous of…like:

We gave our dog a bath. I mean how jealous are you?!?!

cameraapril2 019

Poor bubby is not a fan of the cold hose water…but it’s better then bathing him in our bathtub…the hair, the crazy amount of fur that comes off of this dog…so we try and give him a bath outside. He tries to escape…my husband really looks forward to this fun battle.

cameraapril2 022

cameraapril2 028

After all that fun…we meal planned!

Again, I can understand if you are wishing you hung out with us this weekend!

But in all seriousness, we do waaaaay better eating healthy when we plan. Sometimes this task is not easy or fun because Joe and I eat such different things, but we can usually come up with some things that  work for everyone…including Ellie.  I don’t eat meat and Joe does, so another small hurdle…thankfully he has done so well with eating far less meat and trying meat substitutes with an open mind, which I am so thankful for!!

I found several free printable mean planners online which made the process a little easier and cuter.  The one in the picture I found for free  HERE.

cameraapril2 012

I usually scribble down notes and ideas and look up recipes and inspiration before finally making my grocery list and writing it all down on the official planner.  And yes, those are still left over Easter eggs sitting there.  As I mentioned in a previous post, we are in the process of re-doing our kitchen so it is a little bit of a disaster currently.

At any rate, after the planning and list making…we head to the store, then try to cook/cut as many things as we can that same day.  Again…this ALL only happens during the perfect week when we are totally on our game.

cameraapril2 014

I think it is also worth mentioning how obsessed I am with two specific websites/youtube vloggers.  These two are where I usually get alot of my recipes and inspiration from.

1. Tone It Up  If these two super hot ladies don’t motivate you to get your ass in gear I don’t know what will. They post free workout videos and recipes all the time and today they actually started their 5th annual Bikini Series.  It is an 8 week program to get you ready for the summer. I am trying to follow along with this so say a prayer for my sweet tooth to resist all temptations!! I really like their workouts because they are usually working a ton of body parts at once…which this busy mom likes because I don’t have the time to spend 45 minutes only on my abs..I need something that will work it all and quick.

2. Blogilates I also love this website and her videos.  It is the same type of thing…free youtube workout videos and recipes.  She has a free printable healthy eating meal plan, which is super nice.  As the name says, she is more pilates based which is a great companion to the total body toning the ladies of tone it up come at you with.

Check out both of these websites and their videos…I swear you will love them!!!

Ok so that was our crazy cool weekend recap…and a few tidbits added on because I’m currently obsessed.

Hope you all have a happy Monday and enjoy the rest of the week!

Oh Hey, Friday… Life Recap

Happy Friday!!!

I have been seriously out of the blogging world lately for really no other reason but the fact that we have been busy.  Some days I have things to say and I love sitting down and typing, some days we are busy and I don’t have much to say so the last thing I want to do is sit down and write…I would rather de-stress, watch Bravo and drink a glass of wine!!

With that being said I thought I would catch you up on what we have been up to…

1// Parks:  Now that Ellie is a walking maniac, we have been loving us some parks…when the weather permits.

2// St. Patrick’s Day:  It came and went and I  am already excited for next year!

3// Easter:  These holidays just keep getting more and more fun with each year…the older Ellie gets and the more she realizes what is going on it is just so fun!

4// Tackling our Kitchen:  We have finally officially removed all of the 1960’s wallpaper from our kitchen and dining area!!! This was not a fun task AT ALL, but thanks to my cousin letting us borrow a steamer and many hours of work we are finished…until we tackle the bathrooms, uggg!! We have also painted our dining area and have started the cabinets.  Goodbye 1960’s, hello 2015!!!!

Here is a few in-the-process pictures.  I will do an “after” post when we are actually complete.

5// Life news: One of the main reasons I have found it so hard to focus my thoughts lately is because we have had some things happen that really make you take a step back and think.  One of our dear friends was recently diagnosed with cancer…obviously tough news and I really don’t feel appropriate writing too much on this, but is has made it difficult for me to find my voice on here.  Also, Joe’s grandmother passed away at 81 years old.  She was an amazing women that lived a very full and wonderful life but she will be missed!

cameradec2 003

So there you have it…our life the last couple of weeks in a nutshell.

BTW, I am linking up with several lovely ladies for this Oh Hey, Friday. If you feel like reading some other super fun blogs check them out!
